Programs & Events
In an effort to make our community a safer place, the CIC is offering safety flashers under its Brite@Nite program. These flashers have three different light patterns which will allow walkers to be more visible to passing motorists during darkness. These Brite@Nite flashers can be obtained from the CIC for a small donation on market night in one of the town squares, or the farmer’s market at Brownwood on Saturdays.
Groups or individuals can make arrangements to obtain these flashers by contacting the CIC at: email@example.com. Villages residents and their guests are encouraged to take all steps necessary to increase their visibility at night, either through obtaining these flashers or any other devices of their choice. Be Safe! Be Seen!
The CIC has set a goal of putting a new wheelchair in every Villages Recreation Center. We are asking individuals and groups to donate money for a wheelchair. A donation panel with the donor’s name will be added to the back of each wheelchair. We have already placed new wheelchairs in each Regional Recreation Center, and are now soliciting donations for The Villages® Recreation Centers. Wheelchairs have been placed at Allamanda, Bridgeport, Chatham, Colony, Eisenhower, El Santiago, Fenney, Hibiscus, La Hacienda, Lake Miona, Laurel Manor, Mulberry, Odell, Paradise, Rohan, Savannah, SeaBreeze, Sterling Heights, Tierra Del Sol.
The suggested donation for each wheelchair is $250, which includes the wheelchair and donation panel for the chair back. To make a donation, please contact Paulette Graeven at firstname.lastname@example.org. Paulette will contact you to arrange for the donation. We would like to thank Sean Riley at Triton Medical, in the Best Buy plaza, for letting us purchase their top of the line wheelchair at a reduced price.
